Calendar how-tos
How to Subscribe to a Calendar URL in Google Calendar
To subscribe to a calendar link in Google Calendar, click the plus next to Other calendars, choose From URL, paste the address that ends in .ics and click Add calendar. Changes then come through by themselves, though Google can take several hours to pick them up.
Step by step
- Copy the calendar address. It usually ends in .ics.
- Open calendar.google.com on a computer.
- Click the plus next to Other calendars.
- Click From URL.
- Paste the address and click Add calendar.
Good to know
- If an address starts with webcal://, you can usually change that to https://.
- Google fetches the calendar on its own schedule, so an update can take hours to show.
- A subscribed calendar is read-only: you cannot edit its events.
