Can I track habits in my calendar?
Yes. Make each habit a recurring time block at a fixed time, and tick it off when you do it. In Cutline, a finished block counts toward your streak, cleared days and XP, so the calendar doubles as a habit tracker, and the habit has a time, which makes it more likely to happen.
Why a calendar beats a checklist for habits
A checklist says what; a calendar block says when. Plans that specify when and where you will act ("implementation intentions") reliably raise follow-through; a meta-analysis of 94 studies found a medium-to-large effect (Gollwitzer and Sheeran, 2006).
How to set it up
- One block per habit: "Read 30 min daily at 21:00".
- Keep the block small enough to do on a bad day.
- Tick it off; let the streak grow; on a sick day, plan a short block you can finish.
How long until it sticks
In one well-known study, habits took a median of 66 days to become automatic, with a wide range (Lally et al., 2010). Missing a single day did not undo progress.
Questions
What if I miss a day?
Restart the next day. On Cutline the streak starts again, and your hours and record stay.
