Is Cutline worth it? Pros, cons and who it is not for
Cutline is worth it if you plan your own week and want to see what you actually finished: blocks have a done state, and streaks, levels and a weekly board come only from finished time. Planning is free, so trying it costs nothing. It is not the right pick if you need meeting booking, automatic task scheduling, a native phone app or a language other than English.
What Cutline does well
- A done state for every block. Tick a block off and it counts; skip it and the week shows it. Most calendars cannot tell the two apart.
- Motivation from finished time only. 10 XP per 15 finished minutes, +100 XP for a Cleared day, levels and an honest streak (no freezes); XP only for blocks ticked off on their day or up to two days after.
- Your other calendars inside. Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple and iCal events show next to your blocks, read-only.
- Fast planning. Type the week in one sentence ("gym 3x at 7am, deep work weekdays 9-12") or copy one of 30+ templates.
- Free where it matters. Planning, XP, streaks, Budget, linked calendars and the verified CV cost nothing.
- Proof. A verified CV built from your record, and payment links through your own Stripe account.
What Cutline does not do
- No meeting booking or scheduling links. Use a booking tool, or Google Calendar or Outlook, which you can link into Cutline.
- No automatic scheduling. Cutline plans with you, not for you. If you want software to move tasks around for you, look at Motion or Reclaim.
- No App Store or Google Play app. Cutline runs in the browser on phone and desktop. There is no offline mode.
- English only, for now.
- Some social parts are paid. Free accounts read the Floor, follow and reply; posting, starting conversations and shared calendars come with paid plans.
- New. Cutline launched in 2026, so it has fewer integrations and a smaller community than tools that have been around for a decade.
