# What week is it?

URL: https://gocutline.com/tools/week-number/

The current week number is shown at the top of this page and updates to today in your time zone. Week numbers follow ISO 8601: weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week that contains the year's first Thursday.

## How week numbers work
- **Weeks start on Monday** and end on Sunday.
- **Week 1** is the week with the first Thursday of the year in it (the same as the week that contains January 4).
- A year has **52 or 53 weeks**. 2026 has 53; 2027 has 52.
- Some countries and apps (the US in particular) count weeks from Sunday or from January 1. This page uses the ISO standard used across Europe and in most business software.

## Week numbers in Cutline
Every week in Cutline shows its ISO week number on top of the Grid, next to the dates. Planning by week number makes it easy to say "launch in week 47" and see it coming.
