# Write applications that get answers

URL: https://gocutline.com/playbooks/write-applications/

Write applications that get answers: Three good applications beat thirty copies. 1) Pick roles where you match most of the list. Skip the rest. 2) Read the posting and the company's last few posts. Write down the problem this role is there to solve. 3) Two short paragraphs: the problem you would solve for them, and proof you have done something like it.

## The steps
1. Pick roles where you match most of the list. Skip the rest.
2. Read the posting and the company's last few posts. Write down the problem this role is there to solve.
3. Two short paragraphs: the problem you would solve for them, and proof you have done something like it.
4. Add the link to your verified CV so they can check your record.
5. Follow up once after a week, with one new thing: a small idea or a result.

## Your first move in Cutline

Tap the box to copy the prompt. Put the answer in the block's notes.

```prompt
Here is a job posting: [paste]. Here is my experience: [paste]. Write an application under 150 words: the problem this role solves, why I can solve it, and one concrete proof. Then list the 3 questions I should prepare for.
```

## Make it a block
[Add it to your week in Cutline](https://app.gocutline.com/?lib=playbooks/write-applications): the steps go into the block, so the next one is always written down.
