# What happens to my streak if I miss a day?

URL: https://gocutline.com/answers/streak-freezes/

On Cutline, a missed day ends the streak. There are no streak freezes, on any plan, and nothing is for sale: a streak is only the days you finished work. Your hours, blocks, level and verified CV stay; the streak starts again the next day you finish something.

## Streaks on Cutline
| | |
|---|---|
| What counts as a day | At least one block ticked off on its day (or up to two days after, if you forgot) |
| Streak freezes | None, on every plan |
| For sale | Nothing |
| A missed day | The streak starts again; hours, XP and your record stay |

## Why no freezes
A streak you can buy or cover is not proof of anything. Cutline counts finished work only, the same rule for everyone. One missed day does not undo a habit (Lally et al., 2010), so plan the hard days instead: a short block you can finish on a sick day keeps the streak honest and alive.

## What counts for XP
A block earns XP when it is ticked off on its day or up to two days after. Older blocks can be ticked off for the record, without XP, and a day that has not come yet cannot be ticked off at all.

## Questions

**Can I freeze my streak?**
No. Cutline has no streak freezes on any plan, and none are sold.

**Do I lose my XP if I miss a day?**
No. Only the streak starts again. Your XP, level, hours and verified CV stay.
